What's SalsaMap for?
SalsaMap is used to
find any existing salsa classes and
events in a particular area. You can then use it to find out information about the
class/event you're interested in.
Organisers can
add/edit their events whenever they need to, and dancers (or organisers!)
can
let us know of other classes/events that they know about but that are not yet
on the Map.
How do I use SalsaMap?
Well, we've tried to keep it simple...
Getting started
First off, enter your nearest city or postcode and click 'Go'. A map will appear
for the surrounding area.
Then use the map controls to zoom in/out and move the map. You can also use the
left button on your mouse to click and drag the map around to move it. If there
are any salsa venues in the area shown then you will see markers appear. You can
click on these to find out more information.
Why are there different symbols on the map?

Venues with
this symbol haven't been confirmed. The symbol was probably added based on the postcode
alone and should be in roughly the right place, but you may want to contact the
class/event organisers to check details. If you know the event please
let us know whether we've got it right!

Venues with this
symbol are confirmed so hopefully the symbol will be more accurate. Be sure to
let us know if we've got any wrong.
I get an error saying that there are too many events to
be displayed. What gives?
There are quite a lot of events on SalsaMap (and we're always on the look-out for
events that we've missed) and we have to restrict the number that can be shown on
the map at once to limit the load on our server. If you get this error message then
either zoom in so that there are fewer events, or use the criteria to narrow down
the events and classes that are displayed.
What browsers are supported?
SalsaMap should work fine in Internet Explorer 6 & 7 and Firefox 1.5 & 2 with JavaScript
enabled (it is enabled by default).
If you are using one of these browsers and experiencing problems with the site then
let us know.
